Balance

In relationships. In work. In life.

If you need a balanced environment without unnecessary tension, apply for a job with us. We could promise you only the most “renowned” projects or the most “101% people-centric” company culture in the world but… We respect every second of your attention, so we’ll give you the real picture.

“Take it easy

Our first slogan was created by our employees. At first glance, too casually phrased, but honest. Easy, because everything can be solved. It served us well for years.

However, as the company grew, and we grew with it, we realized two things.

The colleague it all started with

The colleague it all started with :)

Well, not everything is easy

The more of us there are, the more complex things get. Processes, hierarchy, more serious clients. Simply put, it’s not always easy.

Stay grounded

We all have shifting expectations, and we try to keep up with one another but… Real circumstances matter.

Actually, just realistic

As the idea matured, we realized that “Take it easy” is a layered motto.

It’s the moment when a project is really hard, but the company doesn’t pressure you. Or really easy, but the company doesn’t squeeze your productivity to the last second.

These are the situations where we roll up our sleeves and finish work that drags on… But not in a way that jeopardizes work-life balance. The point, the whole time, is balance as much as possible.

No extremes. Just realistic.

“Pancakes sometimes arrive cold :(“

Yes, real feedback. :)

Culture isn’t something you write about. Culture has to be experienced. Still, you should know at least a little of what awaits you.

We’re all different, and this way you’ll know right away whether IT Engine is the right place for you and your ambitions.

A supportive environment

Yes, clients. Yes, profit. But… We’ve ended projects that put the team at risk.

Growth in every sense

You choose the tech stack. Trainings, conferences. You have the support of a Tech Lead, HR and the team when it’s easy… And when it’s not.

No unnecessary tension

Work is complex. There will be pressure sometimes, but we don’t need to create it artificially. It will get done.

Positive

You feel like a person, not a number… Great interpersonal relationships, willingness of more experienced colleagues to help at any moment and share their knowledge. The option to work from home 4 days a week.

Complaints

Pancakes sometimes arrive cold :( I have no complaints about the company other than this one.

A team incentive is our way of rewarding the whole crew for great work and reaching project goals, through fun activities that strengthen teamwork, while a one-time bonus goes to individuals who make an exceptional contribution to the project.

“If you’re not here for at least 5 years…”

On a human level, we find it hard to part ways. We love it when people stay for the long run. That’s just who we are.

But know that we always support you and give recommendations if you find a better balance for your life… Whether it’s a higher salary, a different project, an exciting technology…

Testimonials

What people who worked with us think

I worked at IT Engine for 1.5 years as an iOS Developer. I loved this company and its people. IT Engine is first of all people-driven. The owners Bojan and Vladimir are the most understanding, caring company leaders that I have ever come across. The best thing I liked about working in IT Engine is that the company is built on trust, integrity, and fairness to all, so teamwork comes naturally to everyone that works here. I worked with great people and every single one of them is different in its way. This was just a nice harmony of people working in different roles but understanding and respecting others in any way. Hope this will last for a long time in the future. I am so grateful that I have been a part of this awesome company and to have such a leader as Bojan.

Suzana Bogojević

iOS Developer

I worked at IT Engine as a software developer for more than 6 years. When I came, IT Engine was a company with only 6 employees. I grew together with the company and the company grew together with me. I was a part of a lot of different and interesting projects, I met a lot of young and promising people, and attended a lot of parties. All these years, I had the opportunity to watch how young inexperienced developers became top professionals. IT Engine is a great company for young people to start at but also for experienced developers to continue their career growth. It is the company where you can say what you think and nobody will resent you.

Jovan Jovanov

Software developer

When I think about the IT Engine, I remember all the challenging projects and great moments I experienced with the teams. People at the company always created a good atmosphere and allowed me to learn from them and to teach others. I had the opportunity to work with new technologies on one of the biggest startups in Europe. That inspired me to learn more and to improve my personal and professional skills. Today I can say that much of the knowledge I gained, I gained thanks to the IT Engine.

The process of selection and hiring

We've built a balanced process – pleasant enough for you to enjoy the experience, yet serious enough in assessing knowledge to let us determine whether we're a good skill-culture fit.

Internship

Step one

After you send your CV, we'll let you know whether we're a good fit for a first interview. Everyone gets a reply, whatever it may be.

Step two

The initial conversation is with HR and lasts 30 to 60 minutes. You'll learn everything about the company and the position, and then schedule the technical interview.

Step three

In the technical interview, we'll get to know the technologies you have experience with, so we can assess whether you're ready for an internship with us.

Step four

If everything went well, we agree on a start date for the internship, which lasts 1-2 weeks.

You'll get a task to work on during the first week, after which you'll receive feedback from your mentor on whether your knowledge is at the right level to stay another week and keep working on the task.

That's where you get slightly more challenging problems.

Step five

After the internship ends (whether it lasted one week or two), we thank you for the effort and knowledge you've shown. If we have an open junior position, we propose working together.

Otherwise – we stay in touch until the next hiring opportunity.

Employment

Step one

You send your CV and our HR will get back to you soon to arrange the initial interview.

Step two

In the interview you'll learn everything about the company and the position. We'll agree on a date and time for the technical interview. This interview is led by one of our experienced colleagues.

Step three

If you show the level of technical skills we need and we feel you'd fit well into the team (both angles matter to us), then we organize a final interview.

In the final interview, we negotiate the terms. If we reach an agreement, all that's left is to set your first working day. :)
